BMW M5

The first M5 was assembled by hand around an engine descended from a mid engined supercar, and the template has never really changed: the fastest sedan of its day, wearing almost none of it on the outside. The E34 carried the hand built tradition into the 1990s, the E39 is widely held as the finest of the line and leads Australian demand accordingly, and the E60 answered with a Formula One inspired V10 unlike anything in the class before or since.
