Porsche 924, 944, 968 & 928

Porsche's transaxle era produced some of the best balanced road cars of its time, and collectors have caught up with the fact. The 924 opened the line and its Turbo remains the connoisseur's pick, the 944 broadened it into the marque's best seller, and the 968 refined the formula to its peak, with the Clubsport now firmly collectable. Above them the 928 pursued a different idea entirely, a V8 grand tourer meant to replace the 911 and now appreciated for everything that made it unlike one. Values still sit well below equivalent 911s, which makes honest, well kept cars in this family some of the smartest Porsche buying there is.
