This 1964 Jaguar S-Type 3.8, affectionately known as “Glassy Lady” and presented as a former show car, is powered by a 3.8-litre inline six-cylinder engine paired with a manual gearbox with overdrive, and shows 3,793 miles since restoration (TMU).

Introduced in 1963, the Jaguar S-Type bridged the gap between the Mk2 and the larger MkX, combining the sporting character of the former with the independent rear suspension and improved ride comfort of the latter. Today, the S-Type is regarded as one of Jaguar’s most usable and refined classic saloons, offering period charm with genuine driving capability.

This example was comprehensively rebuilt in 2002 for a prominent Queensland jeweller, with no expense spared and extensive documentation supporting the restoration, including a full list of suppliers and photographic records. Now on its third owner since restoration and acquired by the current custodian in 2024 as part of a private collection, the car presents in exceptional condition throughout.

Mechanically, the vehicle is reported to be in excellent order with no known faults, benefitting from its full restoration and ongoing care. The 3.8-litre engine delivers smooth and effortless performance, while the addition of power steering and air conditioning enhances usability.

Externally, the paintwork and brightwork present immaculately, consistent with its show car status. The wire wheels and chrome details are in excellent condition, complementing the car’s elegant lines.

Inside, the cabin is equally impressive, featuring beautifully presented trim and woodwork, with seats, carpets and finishes all in immaculate condition. All systems are reported to function as intended.

The car is accompanied by comprehensive documentation covering its full rebuild and subsequent maintenance, along with receipts and historical records. No spare keys are included.
