This 1967 Ford Mustang is a factory fastback that has remained with its current owner for 15 years and is accompanied by a Marti report documenting its original specification. It is powered by a naturally aspirated 4.7 litre (289 cubic-inch) V8 with intake and exhaust modifications, paired with a three-speed automatic transmission driving the rear wheels. The odometer currently shows 5,157 miles* TMU.

The Mustang received its first substantial redesign for 1967, gaining a larger body, revised styling and an engine bay capable of accommodating Ford’s big-block V8. The fastback’s extended roofline flowed towards the rear of the car, giving it a distinct profile alongside the hardtop and convertible. Small-block V8 models continued to form a central part of the range, including the C-code 289 originally specified for this example.

The car is presented in blue with white lower-body stripes, blue upholstery and chrome American Racing wheels. The Marti report records Acapulco Blue paint under code D, blue standard vinyl bucket seats under code 2B, a 289 two-barrel V8, a C4 Select Shift automatic under code W and a 2.79:1 conventional rear axle under code 0. An AM radio and white-sidewall tyres are also recorded as original equipment. The owner advises that subsequent modifications include a right-hand-drive conversion with a replacement firewall, upgraded suspension, power-assisted front disc brakes and power steering using Ford Falcon components. Engine changes include an Edelbrock intake manifold, Holley 600 four-barrel carburettor with automatic choke, coated extractors, FireBall XR700 electronic ignition and a straight-through exhaust with rear “hotdog” mufflers. Air conditioning, a replacement dashboard and instrument bezel, a stereo with a boot-mounted six-disc CD changer, front inertia-reel seatbelts and LED exterior signal lamps are also fitted.

The Marti report records production at Metuchen on 31 March 1967 for the Louisville sales district. The owner understands that the car was imported, restored, repainted in its original colour and converted to right-hand drive more than 20 years ago, although documentation for that work has not been supplied. An engineer’s certificate is reportedly referenced on the registration papers, but the owner has not seen the certificate itself. During the current ownership, servicing has been undertaken by an independent mechanic specialising in American muscle cars. Reported work includes replacement of the starter motor and solenoid, installation of a reconditioned power-steering pump, an air-conditioning compressor approximately two years ago and the Holley carburettor approximately 12 months ago. Rear brake lines and axle seals were replaced around four years ago, while the radiator has been cleaned and flushed and the cooling system upgraded.

The seller reports minor paint blemishes but describes the overall paintwork as being in excellent condition. The seats are described as showing minor wear, with the carpets and wheels also reported to be in excellent condition. The front floor mats are described as being in good condition.

Included with the sale are two sets of keys, the Marti report, recent maintenance receipts and a steel spare wheel described by the owner as original. A selection of small spare parts also accompanies the car, including interior fixing screws, indicator lenses and light covers.
