This 1968 Mercedes-Benz 280SL W113 Pagoda is an Australian delivered, matching numbers example finished in Signal Red over Parchment. It has been comprehensively restored both mechanically and cosmetically by Pro-Star Mercedes-Benz specialists in Hawthorn, Victoria. It is powered by a 2.8-litre fuel injected inline six producing 125 kW (168 hp), paired with an automatic transmission and driving the rear wheels. The odometer reads 64,655 Miles* TMU.

The Mercedes-Benz W113 SL was introduced in 1963 as the successor to the 190SL and 300SL Roadster, combining elegant Paul Bracq styling with six cylinder performance, independent suspension and refined grand touring manners. The 280SL arrived in 1967 as the final and most developed version of the Pagoda line, gaining the larger 2.8-litre M130 engine and becoming the most sought after W113 variant. Its distinctive removable hardtop, concave roof profile and understated proportions have made the 280SL one of Mercedes-Benz’s most recognisable classic models.

This example is finished in Signal Red with a Parchment interior, matching carpets and trim, and a black soft top. The cabin presents with its original style instrumentation, switchgear, Becker style radio, wood trim, cream steering wheel and automatic shifter. The vehicle is also supplied with its removable hardtop and hardtop storage stand.

The seller states that the car has been comprehensively restored both mechanically and cosmetically by Pro-Star Mercedes-Benz specialists in Hawthorn, Victoria. The vehicle is described as a genuine Australian delivered, matching numbers 280SL and is presented in its factory correct colour specification. It has reportedly been maintained under collector ownership regardless of cost, with limited use since restoration.

The exterior presents in excellent restored condition, with the supplied photography showing straight bodywork, bright chrome, correct wheel trims, whitewall tyres and clean exterior detailing. The interior presents in similarly restored condition, with Parchment upholstery, matching carpets and red painted dash sections consistent with the exterior finish. The underbody is described by the seller as being as clean as the coachwork, reflecting the standard of restoration and subsequent preservation.

Included with the vehicle is the removable hardtop and hardtop storage stand.
