This 1977 Ferrari 365 GT4 2+2 is an Australian-delivered car and features a highly-desirable green-over-tan colour combination. It is powered by naturally-aspirated 4.4-litre V12 engine which delivers 250kW (335hp) to the rear wheels. This powertrain is mated to a five-speed manual transmission. The odometer currently shows 8,568 miles. As premier Italian grand tourers, the Ferrari 365 GT4 2+2, Ferrari 400 and Ferrari 412 span 1972 to 1989. All three models share similarities in body and chassis, and the lineage evolved over time to become one of Ferrari’s longest-running production series.
The 365 GT4 2+2 was designed by Pininfarina to have more definitive lines than Ferrari’s previous models, and featured luxurious appointments befitting of a flagship grand tourer. Just over 500 were built before the range moved to the Ferrari 400, with very few making their way to Australia from the factory. All were manual. Today, the 365 GT4 2+2 is an affordable way into vintage Ferrari ownership, and the design is especially alluring in period colour combinations. Painted in Pino Verde on the outside and upholstered with tan leather inside the cabin, this 365 GT4’s specification fits the desirable green-over-tan aesthetic. It also selects woodgrain trim for the centre console, plus tan carpeting throughout.
No aftermarket modifications are listed alongside this car and it is understood to retain its as-delivered colour combination, which boosts provenance. The car rides on a set of 15-inch wheels which come wrapped in Michelin tyres. This 365 GT4’s body was built new by Pininfarina and assembled in Maranello, Italy. It was one of the first examples delivered new through WH Lowe. Long-standing Ferrari collector Bill Leech held this car through the 1990s and the car underwent an engine rebuild in 2005. It has since moved through Sydney, where it has been serviced by Ferrari specialists Les Miller Motors in Hornsby since 2009.
The current owner has owned the car since August 2020 and spent considerable money on the mechanical and physical up-keep of this car. It has recently been resprayed, contains new engine mounts, has new suspension bushes, new air filters, and new exhaust mounts. Considering this vehicle has had a recent bare-metal respray, this 365 GT4 2+2’s condition shows incredibly well for its age. The Pino Verde paintwork appears with great reflection and no signs of scratches or dents are seen on the bodywork. Period chromework shows in clean, polished condition too. All four wheels show no kerb rash and the fitted Michelin tyres retain a deep amount of tread.
Over $6,000 was spent recently at Tru Track suspension. All original upholstery shows in fantastic condition, especially for the car’s age. Some signs of creasing and wear are seen on the car’s upholstery, though this adds to the car’s subtle patina. The dash, instrumentation and gauges all display in great condition, while the door cards both show in good order. The car has a period Nardi steering wheel and Blaupunkt radio. Carpeting has also been replaced in recent years.
This car will come with replacement books, tool kit, original owner’s manual wallet, and jack. As per Trading Garage’s Terms and Conditions, although Trading Garage has completed the following checks bidders must satisfy themselves with the accuracy of the description and do any research they feel necessary before bidding. All listings are sold in Australian dollars. This vehicle is currently in Victoria via Club Permit which is not transferable. There are no security interests registered on the PPSR against the serial number and is not recorded as written off or stolen.
