This 1975 Ford Falcon XB GT Sedan is a genuine example finished in its factory colour of Emerald Fire over white vinyl trim, and has travelled an indicated 246,572 km. Well-kept over long-term ownership, it retains a number of HO-spec running gear components fitted on the GT assembly line and benefits from a full restoration completed in 2020.
Originally purchased from a car dealer in Nunawading, Victoria in 1982, it is believed to have had one prior owner in Orange, NSW consistent with information on its ACCHS report. In 1985, the engine’s bottom end was reconditioned by McGowan Hindoff Engine Services in Box Hill, receiving a 30-thou rebore, Ford Cobra cam profile, high-volume oil pump and a full rotating assembly balance.
After spending roughly two decades in storage, the car was brought out in 2020 to undergo a complete strip-down restoration. Minimal rust was found thanks to periodic fish oiling during earlier ownership with repairs limited to the front roof, windscreen surround and the rear boot seal area. The body was resprayed, the underside refinished in black and a new vinyl roof installed. During reassembly all suspension rubbers, bushes, ball joints, tie rods, universal joints, brake pistons and seals were replaced. The engine received reconditioned heads with new seals and stem bushes by J&S Engines in Cranbourne along with new lifters, electronic ignition, a Holley 650 carburettor and an electric fuel pump.
Mechanically, the car is in excellent condition with no known faults. The interior has been fully retrimmed, including seats, dash pad, steering wheel, underlay and carpets. The car features power steering, extractors (original heads included), and retains its factory double-plate clutch, Top Loader gearbox, 31-spline unit, and locker differential. The air-conditioning system has not been refitted, though all parts are included with the sale.
The car remains in excellent cosmetic and mechanical order with straight bodywork, fresh paint and well-presented trim throughout. No accident damage or filler was found during the restoration, supporting the seller’s claim of an accident-free history.
