This 1979 Ferrari Dino 308 GT4 is an Australian delivered example that has benefited from extensive documented mechanical work and retains its original service books and documentation from new. Power comes from the mid-mounted 3.0-litre quad-cam V8 (170kW/228hp), paired with a five-speed manual gearbox. The odometer currently reads 83,540 kilometres* TMU.

The 308 GT4 occupies a singular position in Ferrari history as the first production Ferrari V8, the first mid-engined Ferrari with 2+2 seating, and the only Ferrari road car bodied by Bertone rather than Pininfarina. The sharp, angular wedge styling was the work of Marcello Gandini, the designer behind the Lamborghini Countach and Lancia Stratos. Introduced in 1973, the GT4 used a 2.9-litre quad-cam V8 in its original form before the engine was enlarged to 3.0 litres in 1977 to improve tractability and meet tightening emissions standards. The result is a Ferrari that rewards the committed driver: responsive, mechanical, and involving in a way that few contemporaries can match. The GT4's long period of relative undervaluation relative to its 308 siblings means the market continues to recognise genuine examples with documented histories.

This GT4 is finished in Rosso Corsa over a black leather interior. The car is presented in five-speed manual specification and the exterior was resprayed in red in 1988 by Dalis Panelbeating of South Granville, New South Wales, with work including a full strip, scratch repairs, repaint in two-pack paint, and replacement of glass rubbers.

Supplied new through Scuderia Veloce Motors of Balgowlah, New South Wales, and first registered on 24 January 1980, this GT4 carries a documented history recorded in the original warranty card and service book. Warranty services were completed by Scuderia Veloce Motors of Lindfield before the car passed through specialist workshops in New South Wales and Western Australia. On moving to Victoria the car underwent a substantial programme of work at Northern Prestige Auto Service, Auto Projects Performance & Restoration, and Perfection Panels covering mechanical, cooling, fuel, electrical, interior, and bodywork. Black Stallion Motors subsequently completed extensive mechanical work addressing suspension, braking, fuel, ignition, and drivetrain components at a cost of approximately $23,000. The most recent service was completed by Lanza Automotive Services, encompassing carburettor service, fuel system, distributor synchronisation, ignition timing, and engine cover strut replacement.

The seller advises the car presents in good condition throughout consistent with its age and history. The black leather interior is reported to be in good order. The carpets were replaced in 2016 and present well.

This Ferrari Dino 308 GT4 will be sold with the original warranty card, original service book, owner's manual, and an extensive collection of invoices spanning the car's documented history.
