This 1982 Ford Mustang GT is noted as one of approximately 8,000 examples built for the return of the Mustang GT nameplate. Imported from Arizona and converted to right hand drive in the mid 1990s, the car retains its original GT specific special fitment parts including its bonnet, front bar, driving lights, and rear wing. Power comes from a 5.0 litre naturally aspirated V8 producing 117 kW (157 hp), driving the rear wheels through a manual transmission. The odometer reads 98,597 miles and is noted as TMU.

The third generation Ford Mustang, commonly known as the Fox Body, was introduced for 1979 and represented a major shift from the larger Mustang II that preceded it. The GT name returned for 1982 after a 12 year absence, re establishing the Mustang as Ford’s V8 performance coupe with the 5.0 litre High Output engine, firmer suspension, front air dam, fog lights, rear spoiler, and more purposeful exterior treatment. The 1982 GT is considered an important early Fox Body model, marking the start of the 5.0 litre Mustang performance era that would define the car through the 1980s and early 1990s.

This example is finished in red with matching red interior trim. The exterior features the GT bonnet scoop, front air dam, driving lights, rear spoiler, black side mouldings, black mirrors, and later 17 inch alloy wheels. The current owner advises the paint is original, and that new trims and badges have been fitted. The interior retains its red sports seating, centre console, factory style instrumentation, and optional CB radio fitment, with cruise control also noted as operational.

The current owner advises the vehicle has had two previous owners and has been in their ownership since 2022. The car was imported from Arizona and converted to right hand drive in the mid 1990s, before being owned in Hobart for more than 30 years. Servicing is noted as having been carried out by a Ford specialist in Hobart, with the most recent service completed in December 2025. The anti pollution equipment has been removed, while the brakes and suspension have been upgraded and 17 inch wheels fitted.

The current owner records no current faults, accident history, respray history, or restoration work. The interior is described as perfect, with all electronics noted as working. Exterior notes include a dent on the front guard, small holes in the rear hatch from a previously fitted aftermarket SVO wing, and rubber bumpers that would benefit from freshening up.

The sale includes spare keys, the original parts removed from the car, and the factory fitted TRX wheels.
