This 1985 Holden Commodore VK is an SS Group A Tribute finished in blue over a matching blue interior. It is powered by a 308 cubic-inch V8 fitted with VN cylinder heads and paired with a Turbo 700 four-speed manualised automatic transmission (reverse pattern) driving the rear wheels. The odometer displays 180,872 kilometres, though true mileage is unknown (TMU).

The VK Commodore occupies a significant place in Australian performance car history, particularly due to its connection with the homologation-special SS Group A “Blue Meanie”. Developed to meet Group A touring car regulations, the original model became one of Holden’s most iconic performance sedans. Tribute builds such as this replicate the aggressive styling and spirit of the factory cars while often incorporating upgraded mechanical components.

This example is understood to have had one previous owner prior to the current custodian, who has owned the car for approximately one year. Servicing has been carried out by City Ford, with the most recent service completed approximately two to three months ago.

Recent work has included a new starter motor, general tune, rebuilt brakes and replacement fuel lines, along with checks to wiring to ensure safe operation. Mechanically, the vehicle is reported to be running well. The only noted issue is that the instrument cluster requires wiring by an auto electrician, with no other faults reported.

The exterior presents well overall with strong colour and straight body panels. The paint is described as being in very good condition, though faint ripples are noted on the roof that are not clearly visible in the photographs.

Inside, the blue interior presents in very good condition with seats, carpets and trim described as clean and well kept.

The car features a number of modifications and upgrades including a Gilmer drive, Harrop intake manifold, Holley 750 carburettor, extractors and a 3-inch exhaust system exiting before the differential. The drivetrain includes a Turbo 700 four-speed manualised transmission with reverse pattern operated via a B&M shifter, along with a VL differential. Additional modifications include a shaved engine bay, relocated battery to the boot and Pedders suspension fitted all round.

The vehicle has previously undergone restoration work including repainting and the shaved engine bay carried out under prior ownership.

Included with the sale are one key, a spare Gilmer drive belt and a spare high-rise air filter.
