This 1993 Nissan Pulsar GTI R Series II (RNN14) is a Japanese market rally homologation hot hatch, finished in black and fitted with a rebuilt forged SR20DET engine package. According to the seller, it also features a Garrett GT2560R turbocharger, Nistune ECU and dyno tune producing 160kW, with power delivered through a five speed manual transmission and all wheel drive, with the odometer currently showing 175,800 kilometres.
Developed for Group A World Rally Championship homologation, the RNN14 Pulsar GTI R paired Nissan’s compact N14 hatchback body with a turbocharged SR20DET engine and ATTESA all wheel drive. Factory specification included a 2.0 litre turbocharged and intercooled four cylinder engine producing approximately 169kW (230PS), a five speed manual transmission and permanent all wheel drive, creating one of the most potent Japanese performance hatchbacks of the early 1990s. Its bonnet venting, short wheelbase and rally derived engineering have made the GTI R a notable modern classic among JDM performance enthusiasts.
This example is finished in black with a black and grey interior, privacy glass, a bonnet vent arrangement, rear spoiler and brand new 16 inch alloy wheels fitted with Nankang semi slick tyres. The used import plate identifies the car as a Nissan Pulsar GTIR RNN14 with a July 1993 build date, seating capacity for four, VIN 6U9000RNN14150097 and Australian compliance approval number 1010601/044. According to the seller, the car is fitted with forged CP pistons, forged Eagle rods, a fully rebuilt cylinder head with ARP hardware, race bearings, a new oil pump, machined crankshaft, ARP main studs, new GTIR cams, genuine top mount intercooler, Z32 airflow meter, custom intake, K&N filter, custom 3 inch turbo back exhaust, Aeroflow electronic boost controller set to 13.5 PSI, Turbosmart boost gauge and a 600hp Walbro fuel pump. The seller advises the original muffler and catalytic converter will be included.
The seller advises they have owned the car since November 2020, with the number of previous owners unknown. According to the seller, the engine has been fully rebuilt and tuned for a conservative 160kW output, while the build was prepared for higher output. The seller reports the car is fitted with an LSD gearbox, new Exedy heavy duty push button clutch, machined flywheel, fresh Penrite gearbox oil, fresh Penrite transfer case oil and a braided clutch line. Additional work noted by the seller includes new bushes underneath, new tailgate gas struts, new battery, fresh starter motor, fixed wheel studs, secured spare wheel, a new oil catch can and four year old wheels. The seller advises there are receipts for oil, filter and related service items. A brand new MOMO steering wheel is included in its box.
The seller advises the car retains 33 year old paint, with some pin dents, a front bumper requiring repainting, fading to the roof and bonnet, and wheels described as near new. The seller reports the ABS light is on due to a wheel sensor requirement, the power steering is leaking, the sump has a small oil leak, two engine mounts require replacement, the speedometer has stopped working while the tachometer still functions, and the factory oil temperature and boost gauges are not connected, with an electronic boost gauge now in use. The seller advises the interior is average for its age, that all windows and door handles work, and that they have never crashed the car and cannot see evidence of prior accident damage, though the front bumper appears to have been replaced previously. The sale includes two keys, a spare original muffler and catalytic converter.
