This 1995 Ducati 916 is a low-mileage, two-owner super bike which has been pampered since new and presents in a quintessential red colour scheme. It’s powered by a 916cc four-stroke, four-valve, V-twin engine which produces 85kW and 91Nm. This motorbike utilises a six-speed transmission and a single-sided swingarm to transmit power to the rear wheel. Its odometer currently displays 2,877km. Following on from the revered 851 and 888 models, the Ducati 916 was unveiled in 1994 as the Italian marque’s premier superbike. With styling from renowned designer Massimo Tamburini and an aggressive new shape, the 916 made waves at its debut thanks to a larger-displacement engine, lightweight chrome-moly trellis frame, and stylish single-side swingarm.

It was a triumph of both technical features and style which set new benchmarks for performance, handling, and braking. The 916 has been recognised as one of the motorbike world’s hallmarks by magazines, exhibitions, and museums around the world. It’s often thought that the 916’s design went on to influence the MV Agusta F4. Today, the Ducati 916 is difficult to come by on the open market and cared-for examples are particularly sought after. This Ducati 916 is finished in classic Ducati Red and features prominent bronze accenting.

The main seat is upholstered in black leather and the second in red. Some selective modifications have been made to this superbike, including a carbon-fibre swingarm cover, carbon tank cover, and an aftermarket alloy rear brake fluid reservoir. The bike rides on a set of its original three-spoke bronze wheels wrapped in Pirelli tyres. Manufactured by Ducati in Italy, this Ducati 916 has been owned by just two people since new. The original owner held the bike for most of its life, initially using the example on occasion for the first four years and subsequently parked it up for display inside his office.

Its odometer shows a low mileage which means only the original pre-delivery service was done. However, the current owner replaced the oil and coolant upon taking delivery in February 2023, and changed items such as the air filter and brake fluid. The battery was just replaced a month ago. It is now said to run in fine condition and starts up instantly every time. Condition of this Ducati 916 shows in brilliant order overall with red paintwork displaying no swirl marks and reflecting beautifully.

All factory stickers show without obvious wear and tear, while the leather seat shows no creasing. Fastidious buyers will notice minor imperfections such as the light marks on the plastic indicator and mirror housings, or the subtle tarnishing around the exhaust and number plate holder. But this bike does show in near-perfect condition throughout which is particularly impressive given its age. This bike will be sold with its original owner’s manual, two keys, and a genuine tool kit.
