This 1999 Ferrari F355 Spider is a two owner, Australian-delivered example. It is powered by a naturally-aspirated 3.5-litre V8 which produces 279kW and 363Nm. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed F1 automatic transmission. The odometer of the vehicle currently displays only 20,414km. The Ferrari F355 is a V8-model Ferrari supercar which was introduced in the mid-1990s to replace the ageing 348.

Despite its evolutionary looks, very little was carried over from 348 to F355. Notably, in addition to a larger-displacement engine, the F355 introduced a five-valve cylinder head which unlocked newfound performance and produced a signature, raspy exhaust note. The F355’s Pininfarina design borrows from Ferrari’s back catalogue, including hints of cars like the 288 GTO in the rear and the front end features styling similar to the Testarossa with pop-up headlights and a slanted nose. At launch, the F355 was only available in Berlinetta specification, though a Spider convertible and a GTS targa top followed shortly thereafter. In today’s age the Ferrari F355 is recognised as an iconic mix of old Ferrari while blending the practicalities of newer models.

Painted in the quintessential specification of Rosso Corsa and featuring a Nero leather interior, this F355’s colour combination it’s one of its greatest attributes. The owner notes no aftermarket modifications have been introduced on this example and it retains its as-delivered colour specification. The car rides on a set of 18-inch five-spoke alloy wheels wrapped in Michelin tyres. Manufactured by Ferrari at Maranello and Australian-delivered to its first owner, this car has been owned by just two people since new. According to the seller, it was first delivered to Billy Thorpe and the Aztecs band drummer Gil Matthews.

It was purchased by the current owner in 2013 and it has travelled a mere 1000km since. Servicing has been completed through official Ferrari service centres and specialist independents including an engine out service at Black Stallion Motors in 2021 which included changing of the cam belts. According to the seller the vehicle is now in perfect running condition. Exterior presentation is meticulous with no marks of damage seen on panels or body work. The Rosso Corsa paint shows in good order without imperfection, while the finish still shines brightly in the light.

Elements such as the black grille haven’t weathered with age, which is common on period Ferraris. The black soft-top roof remains in fantastic condition without sag. All four wheels show without kerb damage and the Michelin tyres appear with good tread. Inside the cabin this F355 Spider has been well preserved. Minimal wear and tear is seen in the leather upholstery and the seats retain a good shape.

Some minor warping is identified in the dashboard leather and on the trim surrounding the air controls. Carpeting and the soft-top lining display without scuffs or stains. This Ferrari F355 will come with original documentation, a full tool kit, and a set of keys.
