This 2005 Bentley Continental GT is a well-presented first-generation example of Bentley’s preeminent grand tourer, complete with just two owners since new. It is powered by a twin-turbocharged 6.0-litre W12 engine that produces 412kW and 650Nm. This power is sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed ZF automatic transmission. The odometer shows 88,000km. The Bentley Continental GT represented a meaningful turning point for the illustrious British marque. In 2003 it had just been acquired by Volkswagen AG, which prompted the boutique manufacturer to use mass-production techniques for its new models. While still retaining hand-built construction, the Bentley Continental GT was the first Bentley to be manufactured in larger volumes.
It utilised a unique W12 engine configuration which sent power to all four wheels through a Torsen-based permanent four-wheel-drive system. But luxury is the car’s focus and the interior feels truly special. It features high-end leather upholstery, premium burr woodgrain trim, and even a clock by Swiss watchmaker Breitling. Nowadays, reports suggest the Bentley Continental GT has reached the bottom of its depreciation curve and represents a strong value-for-money purchase. This car is painted silver on the outside and features a black leather-upholstered cabin. It features burr walnut interior inlays. The owner states the vehicle has not been modified and it appears to retain its factory colour combination.
However, it does feature stick-on door-ding protectors. The car rides on a set of 19-inch Bentley alloy wheels which are fitted with Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S/Toyo Proxes tyres. Manufactured by Bentley in Crewe, England and delivered new to Japan, this Continental GT is a two-owner car according to the seller. The seller purchased the vehicle from Christchurch Motors in New Zealand in 2015. While in New Zealand, the car was maintained by European Car Services in Masterton. It is now regularly serviced by Bentley Perth, with the last visit occurring in July 2023. The owner holds all service information for Bentley Perth servicing.
The owner indicates it will be serviced again before sale. Externally, this Continental GT presents in good condition. The silver paintwork shows no obvious points of scratching or paint damage, while sharp reflections are seen in the sunlight. There is a small stress fracture in the paint above the right tail pipe and similar marks on the left-hand-side. Scratching is noted on the left-side rear bumper behind the wheel. A touched-up paint chip is seen behind the driver’s-side front wheel. Subtle paint chips are noted on the front end and scratches are identified underneath the front bar.
All four wheels present without obvious kerb rash, though they could do with a thorough detail. Inside the cabin, this car presents in good order. The black leather trim appears without stains or tears, though the fabric has loosened with age and significant crease marks are seen on the bolsters. The side of the driver’s seat shows pockmarks and scuff damage. No damage is noted on the woodgrain trim or instruments. As per Trading Garage Terms and Conditions, although Trading Garage has completed the following checks bidders must satisfy themselves to the accuracy of the description and do any research they feel necessary before bidding. All listings are sold in Australian dollars.
This vehicle is registered in W.A until 15th October 2024. There are no security interests registered on the PPSR against the serial number and is not recorded as written off or stolen.
